6 Things To Do In Liverpool This Summer

Emma Hart

Staying in Liverpool over summer is such a great experience and when the sun is shining, it’s even better. If you’re staying at IconInc The Ascent over the summer months, here’s what you can do in Liverpool this summer…

Rent A City Bike And Cycle Down Albert Dock

Did you know that Liverpool has a super economic and cheap way to get around the city? Well, they do! City Bike Liverpool has several bike docking stations throughout the city so you can pick up and drop off your city bike wherever you need to. One of the best things to do in summer is rent a bike on Princes Parade and cycle along the waterfront to Albert Dock. This way you’ll see all the incredible buildings in Liverpool and you’ll end where you can get a refreshing drink at the end.

See Another Place At Crosby Beach

Drive 20 minutes north of Liverpool and you can be at Crosby Beach, a huge beach with 100 cast-iron, life size figures placed along 3 kilometres of the sand. This piece of art by Antony Gormley is called Another Place and each figure weighs in at 650 kilos. As the tide comes in and out, the figures disappear and reappear which makes for an eerie sight. If this art installation isn’t for you, then the beach provides the perfect place for a stroll along the sand.

Take A Summer Evening Cruise On The Mersey Ferry

The famous Mersey Ferry might not be the first thing that springs to mind when looking for things to do in Liverpool this summer. But, it’s one thing we highly recommend. The Summer Evening Cruises run until September and they’re 2 hours of live music, good drinks, and incredible views of Liverpool’s waterfront. So grab your friends and head out for the cruise of the summer!

Visit Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle

The Baltic Triangle in Liverpool is a cool, lively area of Liverpool that’s home to a lot of independent artists, agencies, and creative spaces. The Baltic Triangle though is also a great place for a chilled afternoon out with friends – The Botanical Gardens being one of the best spots to enjoy the sunshine. Enjoy cocktails and gin along with Mexican food from Ta’amiya and make your Friday and Saturday nights great with live music from DJs playing tunes all night.

Adventure At Go Ape In Delamere Forest

Do you want a day in the outdoors? Well Go Ape in Delamere Forest is the perfect place for you. Home to a Tree Top Adventure and a Forest Segway experience, Go Ape will have you whizzing your way through the trees – your adrenalin will be sky high! You’ll walk over obstacles that could be up to 12 metres above ground and fly back down to earth via zipwires and tarzan swings – if you’re brave enough!

Dance At Liverpool International Music Festival

Sefton Park is yet again playing host to Liverpool International Music Festival and it’s promising to be a great one. With acts such as Example, Wiley, Basement Jaxx, Trevor Nelson and DJ Jazzy Jeff playing, you’ll be dancing to well-established acts as well as newbies until the sun goes down on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July. Tickets are only £5 so it’s probably one of the best value festivals around – who can say no to that?
