Who says a big night out has to be at the weekend? If you’ve just moved to Liverpool for uni, it won’t be long ‘til you realise every night is a chance to hit the town. From cheesy pop to alternative rock, comedy to crazy golf, there’s a student night in Liverpool for you. Just try to have at least one night in to call your mum… MONDAY: Brooklyn Mixer Block Party With its exposed brick walls and beer bottle chandeliers, Brooklyn Mixer could be mistaken for a warehouse club in the heart of New York. Spread across three floors and with a terrace for the nights it’s warm enough for outdoor drinking, Brooklyn Mixer brings together students from across the city for a classic Liverpool night out. With bottles from just £1 and shots from £1.50, it’s also great value if your bank account’s feeling the strain after the weekend. With DJs spinning a mix of rap, hip-hop, grime, RnB until 4am, you can push through the Monday blues into a whole new day TUESDAY: Skint Tuesday might not be the obvious night to go big, but regular student night Skint is the perfect place to keep the party going when your budget’s stretched to the limit. Entry’s £1 and there are shots for £1 and bottles for £1.50, so an extra night out doesn’t have to break the bank. But it’s not just about the cheap booze – Skint is split across two venues, so you can choose from hip hop, garage and basement or techno, house and disco. Time to get hunting down the back of the sofa for your spends! WEDNESDAY: Hot Water Comedy Club What better way to get over hump day than with a few laughs courtesy of some of the UK’s freshest comedians? Hot Water Comedy Club hosts live comedy nights seven days a week and has helped launch the careers of some of your favourite stand-up comedians. Hosting events at a number of venues across the city, there’s sure to be something to tickle your funny bone. Weekends get particularly busy, but it’s relatively easy to get a ticket mid-week. THURSDAY:S**t Indie Disco Don’t let the name fool you – this indie night out is far from s**t. Held at Electrik every Thursday night, the playlist is, unsurprisingly, indie, with classics from the likes of The Stone Roses, Arcade Fire and The Killers getting everyone on the floor. Look out for themed nights, like the Oasis Special or the occasional live gig from current indie bands. Open ‘til 4am, with drinks from £2 and a playlist packed with indie anthems, it’s the perfect night to get you ready for the weekend. FRIDAY: Bongo’s Bingo Think bingo’s for old ladies in twinsets? Think again. Bongo’s Bingo is a truly bonkers night out you’ll be fighting to get a ticket for. Described as ‘rave bingo’ and complete with confetti cannons, on-stage dance-offs and dancing on your chair, it’s a favourite with students, hen dos and locals alike. You’ll get a bingo card and dabber like your granny uses, but the prizes range from cardboard cut outs of random celebs to £1,000 jackpots, plus there are prize draws throughout the night. Places sell out for months in advance, so check your diary and get it booked in! SATURDAY: Ghetto Golf Crazy golf places are popping up all over the country and Ghetto Golf has to be one of the best. Set against the backdrop of super cool street art and neon lights (think the inside of a pinball machine), this 18-hole indoor course is a great place to spend a couple of hours having fun with your friends and making memories. When you’re all tee-d out, drop into resident street food eatery Apocalypse Cow for mouthwatering burgers or BBQ-themed tapas. SUNDAY: Black Rabbit Shot Company Made it to Sunday and still not ready for a quiet one? Grab a booth at the Black Rabbit Shot Company and keep those Sunday night blues at bay for a little longer. With a shot menu longer than your arm, plus plenty of classic cocktails to choose from, you can settle in for the long-haul. Get in early to bag a booth or, if you’re feeling flush, club together with your mates and book a booth drinks package, starting at £100 for eight. If you’ve blown the budget the rest of the week, there’s a 2 for 1 on cocktails all day Sunday ‘til 10pm, so you can make those last few quid go further.
